Avengers Infinity War: Is Scarlet Witch the real VILLAIN?
IT’S BEEN widely reported that Thanos is a major antagonist in Avengers: Infinity War - but what if the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen, is also a villain?
That’s what a wild new theory claims, but does it check out?
“I believe Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) is actually evil in the Marvel movies,” theorist Jason Todd posed. “And she is STILL secretly trying to destroy the Avengers from inside. Here me out!
“We meet her in Avengers 2. She was proven to be a very powerful foe for the Avengers, because she was able to give the members scary visions of what they were most afraid of.
“She showed Iron Man that the Avengers will die soon, if he doesn’t do anything about it. Which was a terrible idea because it made him build Ultron the A.I. But we forgive her because she was brainwashed by Hydra and Ultron.
“But did she actually turn good? She did [lose] her family because of the Avengers!”
He added: “My theory begins from Iron Man 3. There we see Tony was suffering from PTSD.
“Because all his life he was a playboy and a nerd, he was never much of a warrior like Captain America, or Scarlet Witch. But his life had just changed in his 40s.
“He was living in a constant fear of secret spies, aliens etc. When Scarlet Witch gave the fear of losing his friends and family it made him unstable. He wasn't thinking straight and build a powerful AI which would be able to make it's own decision and not listen to Tony.
“Throughout Avengers 2 and Civil War Tony was being blamed for the whole Ultron incident. Scarlet Witch never stood up and admitted about how she made him lose his s**t.
‘So it was technically her fault that Tony made Ultron. Also in Civil War the building was destroyed because of her. Could she have done that on purpose? She was able kill a room full of robots when her brother died and pick up rubble (almost a building equivalent of rocks) when Captain America was trying to escape the Airport!
“I think she still might be working with Hydra or trying to get her revenge for her family!”
