‘A Friend From Work’ Line In Thor: Ragnarok Preview Came From A Surprising Source

Thor: Ragnarok’s been getting a lot of positive attention from fans after Marvel dropped the film’s first official trailer during the San Diego Comic Con last weekend. Running for around two minutes and a half, the new preview for the upcoming Thor movie shows off dynamic between Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian god of Thunder and Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner.

Now, with the official trailer busy raking in views online, Hemsworth decides to explains the origin of the first Thor: Ragnarok teaser’s standout line that Thor gives after seeing Hulk in a cosmic arena, describing him as “a friend from work.”

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the Marvel star lets spill how the line actually came from an unexpected source: a kid from the Make-A-Wish program.

“We had a young kid, a Make-A-Wish kid on set that day,” Hemsworth told the publication“He goes, ‘You know, you should say, ‘He’s a friend from work!’”

Adding in the line is a pretty sweet gesture from Taika Waititi and the creative team – the child is probably welling up with pride over the fact that Thor: Ragnarok decided to take the suggestion and incorporate it in the film. It’s not every day that your idea gets added on to a big superhero movie and it seems like the line’s doing pretty well, becoming one of the stand-out lines in the Thor: Ragnarok preview.
