Robert Downey Jr Iron Man OUT of Avengers 4, Chris Evans FINISHED as Captain America?
CHRIS EVANS is finished as Captain America and he says Robert Downey Jr will leave even before he does. Will Tony Stark's Iron Man die in Infinity War?
The Captain is ready to hang up his shield.
Well, technically, he already handed it back to the US Governmnet at the end of Civil War, but Evans is already looking beyond to a future without the Marvel hero.
He said: "Nothing lasts forever. There’s a beauty in that departure. Even if it can be sad at times, it’s also joyful.
"I’d be lying if I said it wouldn’t be hard for me, but the passing of time and the passing of torches is part of the experience."
Evans told USA Today: "I’ve had a great run. Superheroes are reinventable entities, like Batman or even James Bond. These movies find new incarnations and new ways to tell the story. I am all for it.
"However they want to proceed after Avengers 4, it’s really up to them. I walk away with no regrets and endlessly thankful."
Evans confirmed that his Marvel Captain America contract is up on Ellen earlier this week but in this new interview he also warned that Robert Downey Jr was even closer to leaving the comic book franchise.
Evans is contracted for two more movies, 2018's Avengers: Infinity War and the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 the following year.
However he seemed to cast doubt on his famous co-star even being in that final film.
He said: "Downey is far closer to reaching that point where he may walk away. And I don’t know how you replace Downey as Tony Stark. I don’t know who else can touch that."
