A Better Look At Tony Stark's New Arc Reactor For Avengers: Infinity War
Though he still uses Iron Man suits, Tony Stark had lost his arc reactor chest way back in Iron Man 3. Avengers: Infinity War seems to change things, however, as Robert Downey Jr. is seen sporting another arc reactor on his chest in set photos for the movie.

The design of the arc reactor (as well as the Iron Man suit for the film) seem a bit alien, and some fans are wondering how exactly Tony will get them in the movie. Will he visit Asgard and forge his new armor there? Is the new arc reactor physically embedded in his chest?
My personal guess for the arc reactor coming back is, with Thanos having the ability to control time with the Infinity Gauntlet, he simply undoes the surgery that Stark had back in Iron Man 3 and returned the shrapnel back in his heart, forcing Tony to make another arc reactor.
Thinking about it, it would seem weird that Thanos would know that Tony used to have that condition, so it might make more sense to kill him. Then again, Thanos does have the mind stone as well so he can just read Tony’s thoughts and find out he had an arc reactor chest.
One last guess is that I’m overreacting, and that arc reactor is just attached on his shirt. It does seem kind of cool to have some sort of emblem/shield on the middle of your chest. Superman and Batman do it. Why can’t Tony Stark?
