Tom Hiddleston Admits That Thor: Ragnarok Might Change Loki For Good
There’s a lot of excitement building up overThor: Ragnarok, and while most fans are eager to see what kind of treatment Taika Waititi’s giving Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the rest of the characters of the film, others are a bit worried that their favorite heroes might not be the same.
Speaking in an interview with Brandon Davis from Comic Book on the set of the film, Hiddleston finds himself being asked whetherThor: Ragnarok’s version of Loki is different from other versions in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"Yes, but that's in his nature," the Marvel star explains. "I think he's, he's a mercurial spirit, and the minute you try to define him, he changes shape. He is the shapeshifter in the pantheon, although events in Ragnarok try and inspire to change him forever, I think, but they change for everyone."
It sounds a bit surprising that the Asgardian God of Mischief might change forever afterRagnarok, but meeting the Goddess of Death just might be able to do that.
"The goddess of death shows up, and the stakes are high," Hiddleston elaborates, "for everybody, so Loki perhaps more than ever, is challenged to define himself in the face of that threat.”
Now the only question is whether Loki’s changing for the better, or for worse and whether he’s going to stay that way afterRagnarok. Let’s wait and see.
Thor: Ragnarok premieres in cinemas stateside on November 3, 2017.
